"What the hell do you mean 'Kima is here', Darling ? Don't you get funny with me and decide to try to Punk me or some shit. Peter, I will personally get rusted pliers and I will happily castrate you." Pacing back and forth at the though of her ex being in the club didn't give Laylei the happy feeling. It fact it gave her the 'What the fuck ? Don't exes not come back to clubs that you own ?' type feeling. Sue her for thinking that she didn't expect she was going to have to deal with that.
Messing with her ear-piece, Laylei walked to the other side of her apartment in the club. Pulling out the TV remote, she pushes a few buttons, flipping through the channel until the club's cameras pop onto her screen. And sure enough, there he was, at the bar. Her bar. Sitting there. Drinking her drinks. Oh the doorman whoever was on call was going to receive total and utter hell being rained on his parade later.
Restraining herself from letting out an audible groan, and a face-palm, Laylei flops down onto her couch. Speaking into the mic, on her headset she sighs loudly. "Just watch him closely. And if he asks for me, say I died or something, Darlings. You boys and girls are creative."
Inching her way from behind the couch though, stood Kaylei, who stared at the TV in shock as she looked at the same thing her mother was viewing. "JACKIE IS BACKKKK!"
Performing almost a ninja flip around the couch, Laylei stares at the child who only stares back. "You ease-dropping little shit."
Blinking at her mother, Kaylei makes a mad dash for the door, swinging it open as she rushes out of the apartment. "IMMA SAY HI!"
Cursing loudly, Laylei fast walks after the child. The whole time muttering orders and obscenities into her mic.
So not what she wanted to do, right now.

Kima gave out a sigh as he finished off his sake. The bartender blinked and looked at him, then followed his eyes upwards to see the kid and Laylei both running down the stairs.
“Aww, it looks like they are coming to greet you.” she said.
He couldn't help but laugh at that one. No way in hell that's what she was coming to do, most likely she was coming down to curse him out or worse. She was violent after all. “Gimme one more then you'd best make yourself scarce.” he said quietly. The woman nodded, refilled his glass and then moved on to serve other people.
“Well, hopefully this is not too awkward, I shouldn't have any expectations here.” he thought as he finished off that sake, watching the two of them round the stairs towards him it seemed.
“From homeless to club owner and mother, heh, who'd thought considering when I first met her how she was, but I did say she would clean up well.” he said proudly almost, taking credit perhaps for how she turned out?

Ignoring Kima's slick-ass comment, Laylei sucks her teeth as Kaylei skips up to him casually, the child beaming. "And where have you been, mister ? You went all casper the disappearing ghost on us! Stupid!"
Folding her arms against her chest, Laylei simply stood there, mentally cursing the existence of her kid at the moment. Sucking in a deep breath, Lay exhales as she stares at Kima skeptically. "You know, Darling. You're breaking major ex civility rules here. I don't bother you or go to your place of work. You don't bother me or my place of working, and coincidentally living. It's considered rude, you know." Nodding casually to herself, Laylei stands behind the child, frigidly. Seeing Kima again was certainly not on her bucket list, and this wasn't exactly a great late christmas gift.
Of course Kaylei ignored her mother, as she simply stood in the middle between Kima and Laylei. Her semi-oblivious expression as she had to force herself not to go into either of their heads. Not like either of them are a very pleasant place to begin with.

For now he ignored Laylei, and looked at Kaylei, to whom he actually smiled at, she was one of the few who could get him to smile. He had grown to care about the little girl and knew this would be the hardest thing about coming here.
“Well some bad people tried to kill me dear, and almost succeeded this time i'm afraid. I spent the last 3 months sleeping.” He said, not wanting to say “coma”, that just didn't sound good. “But I am back now, I hope you've been keeping up your kendo training? And eating healthy? Or has your mother put you on a diet of pure Mcdonalds? And don't worry, if I ever really go “casper”, you'll know Kaylei cause I left all I own to you.” he said with a ever widening smile, then he looked at laylei, and the smile faded.
So many memories, good ones, bad ones, and just plain bizarre ones in-between. They had quite a tumultuous relationship, he even had asked to marry her. How much things change in a few months. He motioned for another sake to be slid down to him as he let out a exhale.
“Kaylei, how about we talk later so I can talk to your mother for a bit hmm?” he asked the girl. “You wants to know why i'm here, I suppose saying I just came by to see how you was doing wouldn't be good enough. So i'll tell you the rest.”

Sighing the little girl raises an eyebrow as a few of Kima's thoughts slip into her mind smoothly. Smiling fading, Kaylei sighs as she looks to Laylei and then to Kima. "Dontchu kill either other. It's bad for business, like Mom is thinking." Turning on her heel, Kaylei slumps slightly as she trudges back towards the stairs and to the Club's penthouse; Leaving Laylei and Kima alone.
Staring at Kima venomously, Laylei composes herself mentally before she simply just assaults the mans. Walking to the bar a few steps, she leans on her side, still staring at him. "So. Gone for three months, almost died. Shame on the almost part, Darling. How are you feeling ? Bad ? Wonderful. I hope you're enjoying my club. So yes, explain, because that excuse has lost any meaning or value, whatsoever."

"good to see you too heh." he said as his eyes locked on Laylei's and then slowly wandered up and down her figure as she spoke, almost as if he was paying her words hardly any mind. “Heh good to see some things never change.” he said as he caught the drink which was slid to him.
“Well, enjoying myself remains to be seen, but the drinks aren't half bad.” he mused as he continued. “As for where I was? Well as I said. I was almost killed. I would not had left you without saying goodbye, I assumed you knew me well enough to know. I had left to investigate a strange going on in Hollow Earth when I was attacked and captured. Unfortunately I was not able to escape for quite some time. I was simply too deep for Kaylei to pick up my thoughts.” He said and shrugged.
“Once I got free, my persuers had followed me and caught up with me, and using someone similar to Kaylei wiped my memory. But luckily I was found by a good friend of mine, who took me in and helped me recover. The people never stopped pursuing me, and eventually caught up to me again. I managed to kill them this time, but in the process was mortally wounded. After that I don't know.” He said as he stared at her.
“I only told you because I felt you were owed some kind of explanation. That's just the kind of man I am.” he said plainly to her. “For what it's worth, you have my apologies, it was not my intent to leave you alone for so long obviously since I asked you to marry me last time we spoke.”

Daiyu sat with her head bowed and sipped the drink in front of her. She couldn't help but overhear Kima and Laylei then just shrugged it off
Nope, nothing's changed she thought with a shrug and listened to conversations around her. Whispers of lovers meeting in secret, plans of another 'gang takover' in some rats hole of the city. All sorts of interesting sordid information she stored away for future use waiting and listening for anything of interest..besides the group beside her and Laylei and Kima on the otherside...she was just full of lovely conversations

Precious slowly walked in and made her way over to the bar. She noticed some familiar faces and thought she'd avoid most of em. Kima.. She's love to talk to. Laylei... No doubt an interesting conversation. Them both together... A different type of disaster she wasn't trying to become apart of. She smiled as she noticed one woman leaning against the bar.
She fixed her headphones and lightly touched the woman's back. She knew better than to touch someone in this area without expect them to try to kill her on reflex, but hey. Daiyu is a friend. One she hadn't seen in quite awhile, "Been awhile hasn't it Dai?"

If there was one thing on this earth, that Laylei has mastered, it's be bitterness. Bitterness at her situation, at a person, or just over-all in general. She was one to hold a grudge, if one was to hurt, abandon, or do anything negative, she'll certainly hold a grudge. And that's exactly what she has, and has full idea to keep on doing. Because she's a hard-headed bitch like that.
Perhaps she was in a bad mood, or just didn't over-all care. But Kima's story to Lay, didn't click in her head. It didn't make her want to jump up and down for joy at his arrival like most movies lead one to believe. It certainly didn't move her to tears. It more or less moved her to be just a bit more bitter at the fact that if he wanted to, he could've contacted her, or something. But like she always said; 'Could've, Would've, Should've, Didn't.' and Kima certainly didn't.
"Oh well thank you, Knight in Shining fucking armor. Would you like an award for your high moral fiber, on the account of you telling me why you disappeared, without a trail for three months. Thank you, darling, that's coming from my heart, too." Lay said, sarcasm coating every sentence.

Daiyu almost jumped from her seat, instinctively her hand flowing to the small of her back where the handle of her katana sat...That voice..a familiar sound that made her halfway smile
Precious she said her hand relaxing back to the drink cradled between two palms..head still down and that dark hair covering half her face
Yes..it has been. And your mother taught you no manners about sneaking up on someone with a sword she laughed softly looking over at her friend through the veil of hair
Hello old friend..you look lovely. I heard Kima ask for you earlier but then... she nodded her head in the direction of Laylei
Disaster struck she almost chuckled. something off about her voice, it was quiet and calm. Shrugging again she took a drink
How have you been? asked in the same quiet manner, her head dropping again staring into her glass.

Precious eyed Daiyu a bit oddly at first, but smiled none the less. She took her seat next to the woman and took in her features. She glanced over at Laylei and Kima then shook her head as she order a drink. She mauled over her presence as she got get drink and sipped from the cool glass.
It felt good to hear from her, but she couldn't keep her concern from her voice, "Thank you, but it seems I've been better than you. You've changed."

Thank you, but it seems I've been better than you. You've changed."
Daiyu kept her head bowed, a small smirk on her face then she scoffed ever so lightly I guess you could say that yea she glanced over at her friend
Bad places tend to do that, change people one way or another she sighed softly finishing off the drink passing the glass across and eyeing the bartender who made another and gave it to her nodding with a slight smile.
so how have you been?

Precious nodded at Daiyu's response. She felt something was a little off with Daiyu, but it stayed at that... a feeling. Masked perfectly just like the rest she didn't show.
She stood moving behind the bar to refilled her now empty cup. She looked at Daiyu once she heard her question and then noticed the scar and the smirk. That feeling came back 10 told and she lowered her eyes to her glass as she picked it up, "Well according to dragons I've been a bad little kid who needs some discipline with some dangerous missions. Other than that... Peachy keen."
She downed her glass and smiled at her, "So how long you here for?"

He sighed as she vented. He knew she was hurt and angry and honestly he didn't blame her, he vanished without a trace, be it his fault or not. He ordered another drink, and drummed his fingers on the counter top.
"Well, I am sorry Laylei. I had no intentions of this happening believe me. I had no memory for weeks, if not for a friend, who still didn't reveal herself, i'd not be here now. I get you're angry, hurt even, but you must understand I wouldn't had left you. I care deeply about you." He said, giving his head a shake.
"I know you don't care but again, I am sorry."

Daiyu shrugged slightly before looking over at Precious, the hair falling away from her face revealing the scars fully
Depends...I go where I am needed. I've just returned from Osaka... she trailed off and ran her finger along the edge of her glass
You know how it is
