Welcome to Any Given Night, a special thread here on Underground.
Unlike most threads here, this thread has no structured plot. This thread is instead, a place for characters to meet, hang out, and blow off some steam. Stuff done in here can be cannon or not, whatever you want. Feel free to jump in or out whenever, and pretty much do whatever you want. This is just a place for our characters to hang out without stressing about what's going on outside the nightclub.
New Nights: Anyone can start a new night. Ideally, I would like a new night every real-time day, but the thread may move a little too slow for that. To start a new night, just post "NEW NIGHT" In bold at the top of your first post of the night. I would ask that you not start a new night while people are actively posting (In the last several hours). You should also feel free to continue older roleplay if nobody has established that it's a new night yet.

Johnny seemed to come from the shadows as he walked towards the bar, taking a stool and asking for a beer, any beer. He was quite tired, and he needed something to relax. Unfortunately, not far behind him, Frank in his white tux came waddling along, asking for a shot of vodka while leaning up against the bar.
"Hmm, a fun night it was wasn't it, Old friend?" Frank said as he chuckled towards Johnny.
"Why yes, the usual. You trying to kill me, you mess up your own spells, you lie about your age on Facebook, and, oh, did I forget to mention you almost got yourself and me killed?" Johnny said with irritation in his voice, downing a beer bottle as it came.
Frank leaned back into a cackle, and then said whimsically, "Oh Johnny, stop trying to make me look bad. I would have whipped you up and down the street if it wasn't for that pesky cat that landed on my face during the ritual!"
Johnny almost sputtered beer all over the bar table, remembering that and nearly dying laughing. "Your as idiotic as they come, Frank."
Frank takes his shot of vodka, and whips his head back as he takes it down. "Could be worse. I coulda been a dragon."
They both laughed.

"Does it look like I care ? Does this fabulously flawless face looks like it cares ? No, no it doesn't." Laylei said as she leaned over the bar, grabbing a man by his shirt collar. The man was a young latino, dark hair, eyes and complexion, he just stared back in complacency.
"Look lady, I can't pay, and seeing as how it's in my stomach now, you might as well just let me go...Would you hold it against me If I said I wanted your body, now though ? Cause I love dominant woman." The man said, his eyes looking somewhat glazed, as he let out a drunken giggle at his little catch phrase.
Letting go of the man's collar, Lay slide back behind the bar slightly, eyebrow raised in just...confusion. "Did you just fucking quote Britney Spears, Darling ? Did you really ? Oh my god...Are you gay ? Honestly, am I in the twilight-zone ?" She continued to stare at the man, before she just busted out laughing, she leaned on the bar for support as she just let it loose. She calmed herself quickly and looked back up to the man. "You made me laugh, so I'll cut you slack. I'll have you thrown out on your ass, semi-nicely. Instead of Brock who likes to rough up drunks, I'll call Mike to get you."
Laylei gave the drunk man air kisses as almost on command, a large fair skinned security personnel tapped the young man on the shoulders. Within seconds the man was out of the club, dazed and confused.
But Lay just stood there and smiled, before returning back to pouring and mixing drinks.

Johnny and Frank watched as a perplexing drunk quoted Britney spears. Frank bursted out laughing, and Johnny just shaked his head, smiling. He listened to the lady who sounded like something he'd hear a experienced lady manager at burlesque shows talk like kindly blew a air-kiss that floated towards the hopeless drunk as he was thrown outside.
"I don't think the Britney spears quote help him get into the backroom with her," frank said, snorting while chuckling.
"You should use it on her, Just so I can get some bloody peace too.." Johnny replied, drinking his beer. "Why don't you go down to the dance-floor, Frank? Wheres those wicked dancing skills you told me you have, old man?"
Frank looked at Johnny, and said, "Down with the vodka." Frank Beckoned Laylei over, obviously for a drink.

Daiyu had flashed her pass with no problem and had entered the club quietly, seeing who was at the bar, before choosing to turn and head to a more private table.
Could be worse. I coulda been a dragon.
She stopped in mid-stride, her hands in her leather trenchcoat as her head swiveled toward the idiot pair at the bar and shook her head before she moved to the table sliding into the seat and raising her hand for the waitress
Sam Adams she ordered quietly as she watched the dynamic mouthy duo at the bar.

"..consider it a compliment. It's not everyday I make a personal call, especially to someone as low ranked as you. Yes, I just said that, and yes that just happened. Do you want me to-please hold for a moment," the bouncer that stood at the front door raised their eyebrow at the tall woman that fumbled through their wallet, searching for the V.I.P pass amongst all of the fake I.Ds sifting around her one and ten dollar bills. Finding it, she flashed it to the muscle-bound man before continuing her conversation over the phone."as I was saying, do you want me to take the job or not? Those bodies and that building aren't going to cremate themselves you know."
A grin stretched across her face at some unheard reply from the speaker on the other end of the line. Chuckling, she paused on her way to the bar to jot down the date and place so she wouldn't forget.
"That's what I like to hear. Yes, I'll see you in hell to." Flipping her cellphone closed, she made herself comfortable atop a bar stool before waving at a passing bartender"Can I have a bottle of water? Thank you." Feeling her cellphone vibrate in her pocket, she tugged it out and typed a reply, a small smirk ghosting across her face as she did so"Pfft, morons."
From the corner of her eye she spotted Daiyu, whom she tossed a wave to. Seeing Laylei situated at her usual spot at the bar, she also gave a wave to the tattooed woman before murmuring her thanks to the bartender as she took the water they handed her.

"Weird." was the only word to escape her lips as she had gone through the mail that had been waiting for her at the front desk of the hotel. One letter was all she had had waiting for her. It had no return address, just her name and the location she'd been staying at. Ripping it open, she'd found a V.I.P pass to some club called 'The Underground';stranger and stranger.
Making sure that the pass was in her back pocket, she walked down the street toward this club. Humming a tune she'd heard on the radio, she continued on her jolly way, passing drunks and other unsavory characters on her way there;a bad part of town, apparently.
As she approached the entrance, she was slightly taken aback at the long line, wondering if she should come another night. Spotting a couple people that looked like they knew what they were doing, she followed after them, flashing the bouncer up front the V.I.P pass. Still humming, she walked down into the humid heat of the club. Almost immediately her ears began to ache from the music coming from the dance floor.
"Whoa! What a crowd, huh?" she asked with a grin. This earned her a couple looks, but no one gave her a second glance; after all, she wasn't much to look at, just some plain English girl in a club at some ungodly hour at night. Wandering over to the coat check, she managed to earn a couple stares as she dumped a bunch of double A batteries along with her jacket. Shrugging at the onlookers, she made her way over to the bar, making note of the customers there;a strange lot; I wouldn't peg them as the type to hang around a place like this. Waving down the bartender, she ordered a Bloody Mary"Make it extra bloody, please."

"Uh sir, where are you going?" asked the security guard stationed at the entrance to a guy that just walked passed him, seeing the guy continue walking the security guard reached out and grabbed the guys arm forcing him to stop and asked another question. "May I see your pass... or shall I throw you out before you even get in, sir?"
"Must there always be violence with you people?" asked Ajani as he put his hand into his back pocket and pulled out a piece of paper and showed it to the guard. "Can't we all be friends in this cruel world?"
"Hmph, I'm just doing my job," the guard said letting go of Ajani's arm and turned to walk back to the entrance, but stopped after a few steps to say "And you should also mind the rules, or face the consequences," then the guard went back to his post.
"Yeah yeah, not like I haven't heard that a hundred times already," Ajani thought to himself as he walked to the bar and took a seat inbetween two guys joking around and a white girl. "Yo bartender, let me get an Alabama Slammer"

(Bowing out for now loves, sorry. Feel free to NPC the new bartender.)
Laylei looked around as she took another swig of her Vodka. It was bordering into the twenty something shot, and her vision became somewhat fuzzy. She simply looked to one of the waitresses expectantly, to be replied with the woman nodding furiously as she took up bar tending duty.
Lay ignored the beckons and calls, and simply stumbled out from behind the bar. She made her way to the dance-floor as she muttered something only to vanish into the sea of dancing, sweaty bodies.

Feeling her cellphone vibrate in her back pocket, she flipped it open and read through the text message quickly. Frowning, she typed back with expert movements before shoving the cellphone away, but not before switching it off;can't get a moment's peace with this thing turned on. She looked up in time to see Laylei staggering away from the bar and towards the dance floor. Hecate raised her eyebrows at the obviously hammered woman, but made no comment.
"Yo bartender, let me get an Alabama Slammer"
Upon hearing the vaguely familiar voice, she glanced over at Ajani before approaching, cautious the way one would be when approaching a feral cat.
"Hmm...I don't know this for certain, but you look oddly familiar." remembering her manners, she held out her hand to Ajani"And if not, hello, I'm Hecate; first time coming to the Underground?"

"Now that I think about it, why can't I remember what I've done over the last month?" Ajani asked himself under his breath and pondered the thought while waiting for his drink to be served to him.
"Hmm...I don't know this for certain, but you look oddly familiar. And if not, hello, I'm Hecate; first time coming to the Underground?"
Ajani looked up to see who the person who had broken his train of thought and saw a tall lanky kid extending his arm towards Ajani to coax a handshake out of him. Ajani shook his hand and replied with "Thank you for the greetings Hecate, and naw, this is probably my second or third time at this club... I think?"
After letting go of the kids hand, Ajani took a second look at Hecate: tall with a kiddish face and a slightly feminine voice; "This kid a guy or a girl?" Ajani thought to himself for a second, then a second thought occurred. "Screw it, I'll just test and see whats this persons reaction will be."
"And to answer your other question miss, I'm not sure either, I'm also get a sense of familiarity from you myself," Ajani said with a half smile. "Maybe we were both on the same team for a mission or something?"

She raised her eyebrows at Ajani as he spoke of his possible previous visits to the Underground;huh, strange; he seems uncertain, even of his own memories. Curiouser and curiouser. As she listened, she twisted and untwisted the cap of her water bottle, without putting any thought into the action.
"And to answer your other question miss, I'm not sure either, I'm also get a sense of familiarity from you myself,".."Maybe we were both on the same team for a mission or something?"
"Perhaps," Hecate mused, falling silent as she sipped from her water bottle which had been barely touched. Even after she'd drunk, she continued to twist and untwist the cap, as if possessed."I start to forget faces, even those of people I've worked with. They're all a vague blur to me. But," her flat brown eyes searched Ajani's face, as if trying to find some tell-tale sign that they had indeed met before"you're a bold one, speaking so openly about such topics. You can never be too careful, for you never know who'll be listening in."

Toran walked in through the door and headed straight to the bar. Not many things were as good as a big cold beer and that was exactly what he needed. The place was nice and warm compared to the alley outside.
As he walked through the room and past the dance floor to get to one of the bars he looked carefully at each person in the room. Without it seeming as he stared though.
He almost jumped up on one of the barstools and made a yell for whoever tended the bar. He was not trying to be rude, simply be heard and get his voice above the music.
I need a big cold beer. Oh and you don't happen to have any Carlsberg do you? I would be ever so grateful. Otherwise just give me the best you have got. Toran yelled and laughed slightly. He clearly didn't expect them to sell danish beer, but you never know, they did some places. He tried to look patient but clearly was not.
As he waited he turned around to see if he had lost the one he entered with in the crowd or she simply had other plans. Toran also looked at the people dancing and tried to hold back a small laugh. He seemed quite relaxed and happy enough with the situation. Now when was that beer coming...

TanukiPretty much stumbling down the stairs and passing the entrance Tanuki got into the main room of the club, his face brightening up with a smile. He lifted a leg and just wanted to head for the bar, when some middle-aged and obviously already quite drunk man came from the side and took the chance to unintentionally leap over Tanuki's leg and land on the floor. The next thing he did was wondering, just how he got there, and so Tanuki just ignored him and went on. "You can never be too careful, for you never know who'll be listening in.", Tanuki heard a woman remark, as he was passing her. "I'll be!", he laughed at her while going on and finding himself in front of the bar a few seconds later. "Gin Tonic please, thanks.", he raised his voice against the music, than turned around and leaned with the back to the bar, waiting for his drink.

"I'll be!"
Turning her flat brown eyes on the strange man wandering past her, she shot him a glare before a sneer inched across her thin lips.
"Drunk already, and you haven't even hit the bar yet?Laylei would be overjoyed." With a shake of her head, she took a swig of her bottled water, slumping down a little ways, until her chin hit the bar top.Seeing that she'd already drained the water bottle empty, she flicked it onto it's side, watching as it rolled over the edge and onto the floor.
"Hey, barkeep, another water please." as she spoke, she slapped a twenty on the bar top, figuring it'd be enough to cover her tab.
